Fitting is the key. As with wood, the subfloor needs to be smooth and flat. If not, it should be prepared before installation to ensure a perfect fit. Labour costs are generally lower than real wood flooring. Repair pastes are available in matching colours to take care of chips, should severe impact damage cause a problem. The click design on the modern laminates mean the floor can be uplifted and refitted a number of times.
